REALTORS® Relief Foundation Community Grant: SoCal Wildfire Relief

Introduction

For over 20 years, NAR’s REALTORS® Relief Foundation has been a lifeline for disaster-impacted communities, providing housing-related assistance to those in need. Since 2001, the foundation has distributed more than $40 million, helping over 20,000 families both within and beyond the REALTOR® family. Funded by the generosity of REALTORS®, associations, and industry partners, this grant offers vital support to rebuild lives after disaster strikes.

This particular application is for members of the community who were affected by the Southern California fires in January 2025.

Who can apply for assistance?
Any full-time residents who have experienced displacement or damage to their primary residence due to the Southern California wildfires in January 2025.

What funding is available?
Housing-related financial assistance (e.g. mortgage and rental assistance, hotel costs) to help victims recover and rebuild, up to $1000.

When is the deadline to apply?
We are accepting applications until Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Throughout the application, you will be asked to upload various documents - a checklist is below for your reference so that you may have these files or pictures readily available. 

Qualifications

Documentation for Grant Approval
Proof of Residence (one of the following)

  • Mortgage Statement

  • Lease Agreement

  • Property tax record

  • Grant Deed

  • Utility bill

Proof of Property Loss/Damage (any that apply)

  • Insurance claim report

  • FEMA documentation

  • 3rd party repair estimates

  • Evacuation notices

  • Short term rental/hotel receipts

Proof of Identity

  • Driver's License or REAL ID

Selection Process

Please allow 2-3 weeks for your application to be reviewed by our small team. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. If your grant application is accepted, you will receive an email requesting your current updated mailing address and payment information. If you would like to check on your application status, you can log back into the Kaleidoscope platform at any time.
