2026-2027 APIA Scholarship Application
Introduction
Scholarships at APIA Scholars are open to applications from all undergraduate students attending U.S. accredited colleges or universities. Scholarship amounts range from $2,500 one-year awards to $20,000 multi-year awards. APIA Scholars has a focus on supporting students who live at or below the poverty line and are in the first generation of their family to attend college.
APIA Scholars offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities for students currently attending or planning to attend 2-year as well as 4-year colleges. We welcome students from all backgrounds to apply; please note that the selection process prioritizes those who demonstrate significant financial need.
Over the last 20 years, we have awarded scholarships to students from all 50 states including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as from the American Pacific Islands including Guam, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must:
Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States; citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply
Be enrolling or continuing as a degree-seeking undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in fall 2026
Note: students pursuing an associate's or bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply; students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher are not eligible to apply.
Application Process and Timeline
APIA Scholarship application opens online: Saturday, November 15, 2025
Complete application by Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 5pm Eastern Time
Scholarship applicants notified about decisions: April 2026 (may be subject to change)
Scholarship disbursement: awards are sent to colleges in summer 2026 to be applied toward the 2026-2027 academic year
The APIA Scholarship application includes only one essay question and does not require any documents such as recommendation letters. We strongly recommend that you proofread your entire application carefully to prevent any mistakes that may affect the accuracy of your application (e.g., correct contact information, proper capitalization and spelling of names).
Important notes regarding communications:
Our primary method of communication is through email. Set up your applicant profile with a personal email address you will have continued access to throughout the application and selection process. High school seniors: avoid using your high school email address since it likely will be deactivated after you graduate.
In order to receive updates regarding your application status, please do not unsubscribe from email communications. If you are selected for a scholarship but cannot be reached after unsubscribing, you may risk forfeiting your award.
