CTF Lipman Family Sustainable Transportation Graduate Fellowship 2025
Introduction
The Lipman Family Foundation is pleased to provide up to 5 students with a $10,000 scholarship award/fellowship in support of PhD students pursuing studies/research in sustainable transportation, recognizing the critical role they play in shaping California's future. Inspired by the California Transportation Foundation's decades of dedication to advancing student opportunities, this award reflects our shared dedication to cultivating the next generation of leaders.

Qualifications
Eligibility Requirements
PhD students in California (newly admitted or currently enrolled) with a clear focus on sustainable transportation, such as a focus addressing hard-to-decarbonize sectors, social equity and justice, resilience and related priorities, are eligible to apply. Applicants must be:
Enrolled in good standing at an accredited California graduate school PhD program, or
Enrolled in an accredited California institution and admitted into an accredited California graduate school PhD program (note: the fellowship will not be disbursed until proof of PhD program enrollment is provided).
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or individuals studying under a valid visa.
A demonstrated academic/research focus on sustainable transportation.
The recipient will be asked to attend the CTF Education Symposium as a Resident Graduate Student Mentor and will serve as a mentor to undergraduate participants or take part in another CTF event.
Selection Process
The review committee will meet the week of December 22 to review applications received from eligible applicants by the December 19 deadline. Strong emphasis will be placed on the demonstrated commitment of the applicant to sustainable transportation, as well as the novelty, caliber, impact, and feasibility of the applicant's research proposal. Reviewers will also consider academic performance and transcripts as well as the student's references.
