Consumers Credit Union Volunteer Board Application 2027
Introduction
One of the many reasons members trust credit unions to handle their financial needs is that they have both an ownership stake and a voice in the governance of their financial institution.
Description
Volunteers serving on the Board of Directors are required to attend regularly scheduled meetings and actively participate in committee work. The Board's focus and insight on strategy and regulatory aspects of CCU have helped us grow and evolve since the credit union was founded in 1930. We encourage all members to consider serving on our Board and look forward to receiving applications from qualified candidates.
The deadline for applying is 5:00 p.m. (CST) on September 11, 2026. The election is scheduled to be held at CCU’s Annual Business Meeting on March 10, 2027. Those elected to the Board will serve a three year term.
Qualifications
To be considered for a nomination an applicant must meet the following criteria:
Be a member of Consumers Credit Union in good standing for at least five years prior to the Annual Business Meeting, including time as a member of a merged credit union.
Be at least 26 years of age.
Be available to attend regular and special meetings.
Be accessible by phone or email.
Have a basic knowledge of finance.
Be subject to a background check.
Make use of at least four credit union products and/or services.
Be willing to serve on at least one of the four standing Committees each year (Supervisory, Nomination, Governance, or Finance).
Have no conflicts of interest.
Selection Process
Nominations are determined based on the information and supporting documentation submitted with each application. Candidates are evaluated on their demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, exhibit leadership, and contribute relevant professional expertise. Additional considerations include financial literacy, familiarity with CCU’s products and services, technological proficiency, and active engagement with the organization. The Nomination Committee reviews applications and recommends qualified individuals to the Board for placement on the election ballot.
