CORE Scholars Foundation' "RISE Scholarship" is the first scholarship of its kind to focus specifically on high school seniors. RISE Financial Literacy Scholarships is our current open scholarship award. Applicants must be a Philadelphia resident, a graduating high school or trade school senior; or a college, university or trade school student who has graduated from a Philadelphia high school or trade school.

Description
RISE Financial Literacy Scholarships is a need-based scholarship program that offers students up to $2,500 in scholarship dollars in exchange for completing Financial Literacy Training. There is no deadline for this application!

Selection Process
Eligibility Requirements
Household income not to exceed $200% of the poverty line
Applicant is a graduating high school senior, or current student in a college, university, trade school, or qualifying 2- or 4-year degree program.
Applicant: U.S. citizen or a Permanent Resident.

Program Requirements
Student applicants:
Complete 8 units of FDIC financial literacy units (online) and upload to your application
Have a minimum outstanding balance of $2500 in eligible unpaid costs of attendance
Be enrolled full time in a high school, college, university, or trade school
Upload signed Enrollment & Non-Federal Aid Verification Form (EV Form) to your application. Form must be signed by a representative of your college or trade school financial aid office.
Can reapply two years after receiving a RISE award
Qualifying Expenses
Tuition and fees required for the enrollment or attendance of a student at an eligible educational institution
Fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction at an eligible educational institution
Matching Funds
The college, university, or trade school of attendance is encouraged to add a non-federal match to each RISE Financial Literacy Award; however, funding varies by college.
Each student’s RISE award amount may be $2,500 depending on the amount of grant or scholarship dollars that the financial aid office reports the student as having received. Any grant or scholarship money awarded to the student may be considered a non-federal match to the RISE Financial Literacy Scholarship.
