2026-27 Educational Scholarship Application

Introduction

Since 1989, UnitedAg has been committed to helping students achieve their educational goals through scholarship opportunities. Established in 2000, the Agribusiness Education Foundation (AEF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has awarded more than $2.1 million in scholarships to over 1,200 students, supporting employees of UnitedAg member companies and their families as they pursue higher education and vocational training.

Description

The Educational Scholarship Program is available to employees, spouses, children, and grandchildren of employees affiliated with active UnitedAg member companies (Regular, Associate or Affiliate membership). Students pursuing any field of study at an accredited college, university, or certification program are eligible to apply. This year, 40 scholarships totaling $86,000 will be awarded. Applications are currently open and will close on December 31, 2026.

What do I need to apply?

  1. Completed online application

  2. Two-page essay with a one-page bibliography (PDF preferred)

  3. Resume (PDF preferred)

  4. Photo

  5. Three letters of recommendation written in 2026 (PDF preferred)

  6. Transcripts (Minimum 2.5 GPA)

  7. Video personal statement (No more than 3 minutes long, linked to an unpublished YouTube video is preferred)

Essay Question: What are two California state regulations that negatively impact agriculture and farmers' ability to conduct business and remain profitable? What solutions or changes would you propose to address these challenges?

Qualifications

All applicants must be affiliated with an active UnitedAg member company (Regular, Associate or Affiliate level) either as self, spouse, child or grandchild of the employee. They must submit all the documentation mentioned in the section above and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher (current term). No exceptions will be made.

Selection Process

The Education Committee, comprised of eight agricultural leaders, will begin reviewing all applications at the start of the new year. Scholarship recipients will be announced in March. Stay tuned!
