Emerging Leaders Youth Cohort 2026

In a significant stride towards fostering leadership among young tribal members between the ages of 15-23 years, the Office of the Chairman presents the 2026 Emerging Leaders Youth Cohort to be held June 8 to July 3, 2026.

The Emerging Leaders Youth Cohort is designed with an in-depth curriculum that covers the essential pillars of leadership, equipping participants with the tools necessary for effective leadership in the community. The program includes a series of engaging presentations from local leaders and department directors who share their insights and experiences.

A unique aspect of the program is the inclusion of field trips to local enterprises and organizations. This hands-on approach allows young tribal members to observe leadership in action, providing them with a practical understanding of how effective leadership can drive positive change within a community.

The Emerging Leaders Youth Cohort is a step toward nurturing a vibrant legacy of leadership among young tribal members, ensuring that the values of service, resilience, and accountability are passed on to future generations.

A cohort of twenty (20) participants will be selected and provided a stipend following the completion of the program. A full commitment to the entire four weeks is expected of participants. Only complete applications will be considered.

Due to the high volume of applications received for the previous year's cohort, the 2026 Youth Leadership Cohort will utilize a lottery selection process to ensure fairness and equity for all applicants. This randomized selection method provides every qualified applicant with an equal opportunity to participate in the program.
