2026 Greater Arlington Chamber Scholarship
Description
The Greater Arlington Chamber Scholarship Program awards $20,000 in scholarships each year to graduating seniors within the Arlington ISD to attend a college/university of their choice!
Eight (8) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to one graduating senior from each of the six traditional high schools and the two early college high schools.
Eligibility & Intended Use of Scholarship
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants are required to complete the application, write an essay and provide all of the supporting documents. Students are required to be enrolled as a full-time student by fall 2026 semester.
The scholarship is intended to be used for tuition and fees. Funds may initially be split between the two semesters, at the discretion of the university or college, and any remaining funds will continue to roll from semester to semester until they have been used. In the event the student transfers to a different college/university or skips a semester, the remaining scholarship funds are non-transferable and will be sent back to the Greater Arlington Chamber.

One Academic Recommendation (Teacher, Counselor, Athletic or School Club Coach, School Administrator)
One Community Recommendation (Non-Related: Community Member, Employer, Mentor, Religious Official)

Selection Process
Judging Criteria:
The application will be scored on the following criteria: Academic achievement and community engagement.
The essay will be evaluated based upon how well you demonstrate your knowledge and the future projections of the career you have chosen, the educational pathway in order to achieve your chosen career, and how your career will impact the community.
A well-written essay will show you have done research to answer all of the questions outlined in the essay topic, provided original thoughts/content, leave the reader with an overall impression and understanding of your career and proper use of grammar/punctuation and MLA formatting.
Selection Criteria:
Members of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education Committee and community business leaders will evaluate all applications received. Essays will be evaluated and scored, and the top two scoring applicants from each high school will be selected to attend a mandatory orientation. Students will be asked to participate in a "Take 5" exercise to gain knowledge from an industry professional in your field of interest. Finally, students will be interviewed by a panel of three or more judges to make the final decision.
