GR Trans Foundation Academic Scholarship 2026-2027
Introduction
For the 2026-2027 academic year, Grand Rapids Trans Foundation is awarding $20,000 in scholarships, with individual awards up to $2,500.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must identify as Trans or Transgender (including Nonbinary, Two-Spirit, third gender, transsexual, and/or any other non-cis gender identity).
Applicants must be attending a college or vocational program within Kent County, MI, which includes satellite campuses like GVSU and Ferris. (No residency requirement.)
There is no age or GPA requirement to qualify.
Students of Color and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND IMPORTANT DATES
Deadline for application, financial release, and statement of goals: Friday, May 1, 2026, by 11:59 PM.
It is strongly recommended that the Financial Release Form is sent to your first-choice institution no later than Friday, April 17, 2026.
Recipient selection is based on completed application, financial need, and a statement of goals.
Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than June 1, 2026.
Awards will be distributed directly to the educational institutions.
