Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of California Scholarship 2026

Are you a college student passionate about transforming the future of transportation through technology? Spend part of your summer building a stronger future—and a stronger resume—by applying for the 2026 ITS California / CTF Scholarship!
We’re awarding four scholarships of $5,000 each to support students advancing the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) through engineering, planning, computer science, public policy, and related fields.
The Intelligent Transportation Society of California (ITSCA) is a public/private professional organization formed to foster the development and deployment of intelligent transportation systems in California. ITSCA seeks to educate all sectors on the merits of technology in transportation and serve as a forum for industry-wide networking. ITSCA believes that manufacturers, service providers, technology companies, and end-users can all benefit from initiatives that drive the implementation and commercialization of technology in transportation.

Submittal Requirements
1. Transcript with relevant ITS coursework
2. Current course list and upcoming academic year course plan
3. Proof of enrollment or acceptance at a qualifying California university
4. Two letters of reference commenting on academic performance, career goals, and ITS potential
5. A 750-word essay about your motivation to work in ITS, including leadership and community involvement
6. A 2-minute video: Your elevator pitch and vision for transportation innovation
7. A 1-page resume
Qualifications
- Undergraduate and Graduate Students currently enrolled or accepted into an ABET- or WASC-accredited California university.
- Two scholarships are available for undergraduate students, and two for Master’s or Ph.D. students.
- Fields of study must relate to transportation technology, including, for example, engineering, computer science, transportation planning, or public policy.
- Open to all eligible students—international students on F-1 or J-1 visas are welcome to apply.
Selection Process
- Application Deadline: Sunday, August 2, 2026
- Winners Announced: Late August 2026
- Award Presentation: ITS California Annual Meeting in Sacramento on September 27-30, 2026
