John J. Killian Scholarship 2026
Description
In honor of the KSCPA’s first full-time Executive Director, the John J. Killian Scholarship Award is awarded to a full-time student enrolled as an accounting major in their junior year at an independent Kansas college or university.
Qualified students must demonstrate academic success in the accounting curriculum.
Additional emphasis is placed upon the student’s grades in English and rhetoric subjects as well as courses in business and economics. Important qualifications also include the student’s involvement in leadership activities, willingness to comply with standards of professional responsibility, and overall moral character. Demonstrated financial need is not a necessary element of the John J. Killian Scholarship Award.
Number of Recipients:
The scholarship is awarded to one selected student attending a Kansas school.
Selection Process:
The Board of Trustees of the KSCPA Educational Foundation select the scholarship recipient during the March Board of Trustees meeting.

Application Process and Requirements:
• Must be a full-time student enrolled as an accounting major in their junior year at an independent Kansas college or university.
• Must demonstrate academic success in the accounting curriculum
• Must submit a completed scholarship application and include a copy of your transcript and resume
• Must have two references complete a questionnaire, with one reference from those supporting your accounting academic performance (e.g., accounting professor or other faculty)
• Start and stop application as needed
