Marine Credit Union Employee Scholarship 2026
Description
Marine Credit Union believes in and supports higher education and offers a $1000 scholarship available for employees and their immediate family members. This scholarship is intended to be representative of the Marine Credit Union mission: “We are on a mission to advance the lives of people from a place of financial need to a life of ownership and giving back in our communities.”
The scholarship award will be paid directly to each recipient’s college or university for tuition, fees and other educational expenses.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed on the basis of the eligibility and selection criteria listed below.
An applicant may apply whether selected to receive this scholarship in a previous year or not selected.
ELIGIBILTY
Recipient must be a student enrolled in courses during two semesters within the next academic year in an accredited collegiate program and making progress toward the completion of that program.
Recipient must be a current employee or the child / spouse of a current MCU employee. NOTE: An employee or the child / spouse of a MCU employee is not eligible to receive a MCU Member Scholarship; please do not apply for that scholarship.
Grade Level: H.S. Graduating Senior, Undergraduate, Graduate
Selection Process
SELECTION
An independent committee will select the recipient based on the following criteria: the applicant’s academic history, transcripts, commitments, goals, responses to the short-answer prompts, letter of recommendation, circumstances. The decision of the independent committee is final and not subject to review.
Recipient to be announced by June 1, 2026.
PAYMENTS
The scholarship will be awarded for the following academic year unless otherwise stated. Payments will be sent to the recipient’s college/university and disbursed by that institution in equal installments based on their school terms (e.g., two installments for semesters, three installments for academic years divided into trimesters.)
