Meritrust Member Scholarship 2026

This scholarship reflects our dedication to integrity, financial well-being, and investing in our members as they pursue their educational and career goals.

Description

Meritrust Credit Union honors its members’ commitment to higher learning by providing scholarships designed to support their educational journeys.

As part of the Meritrust Member Scholarship program, the credit union awards nine $2,500 scholarships to full‑time students continuing their education in the 2026–2027 school year. One scholarship is designated for each of the following institutions:

Colorado State University

The University of Colorado

The University of Denver

The University of Northern Colorado
Any one at-large Colorado-accredited university, college, or technical school.

Kansas State University

The University of Kansas

Wichita State University

Any one at‑large Kansas‑accredited university, college, or technical school.

 

This scholarship is a one‑time award; previous Meritrust Member Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply.
Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the educational institution where the recipient is officially enrolled. No payments will be made to the student.
Scholarship funds are not available for ministry programs, seminary studies or pastoral training.

Please include all of the following when submitting your completed application:
A fully completed application form.

Complete the three essay questions, focusing on the following topics: “Getting to Know You and Your Educational Goals,” “Committed to Community,” and “Financially Fearless.” Each response should be 150–250 words. Tell us your story!

 

The application deadline is Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:59PM Mountain Time. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Qualifications

Must be a current Meritrust Credit Union member in good standing, including primary and joint owners.
Must be enrolled as a full-time student for the 2026-2027 academic year at an accredited university, college or technical school.
Open to: returning adults, veterans, transfer students, high school seniors, and those pursuing graduate or doctorate programs.
Employees of Meritrust Credit Union and direct relatives are excluded from the Meritrust Member Scholarship.
Applicants must provide proof of enrollment or an acceptance letter from an accredited university, college, or technical school. Proof of enrollment is not required at the time of application. However, the selected scholarship recipient must submit proof of enrollment (student ID and class enrollment confirmation) before the award is issued.

Selection Process

Our selection process evaluates each scholarship essay based on the applicant’s insight and originality, the degree to which they address the prompt, and the clarity and overall quality of their writing.

Completed applications will be reviewed by a committee, and scholarships will be awarded to applicants with the highest overall scores.
