The Progress Women in STEM Scholarship

The Women in STEM scholarship aims to support women pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degrees, foster the next generation of leadership and increase the global representation of women in technical fields.

The scholarship is a one-time 1,600 EURO award. Two recipients are selected.

The recipient of the Progress Scholarship for Women in STEM must meet the following eligibility requirements: 

• A woman pursuing undergraduate study at a public university in Bulgaria 

• In her 2nd, 3rd, or 4th academic year in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, Applied Mathematics, or similar major 

• Have a GPA of 4.50 – 6.00 over the past two semesters of study (or equivalent) 

• Have a financial need 

• Previous participation in Hackathons, Olympiads and other extracurricular activities will provide an advantage 

Exclusions 

• Progress employees, board members and their families are not eligible 

• Previous Progress Scholarship for Women in STEM winners are not eligible 

Two scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement; financial need; interest and experience in computer science, software engineering, IT and/or computer information systems; and personal attributes that exemplify qualities, including, but not limited to, a strong work ethic, high personal integrity and a passion for learning.
