1.    Complete application

2.    Upload video submission, no more than two minutes long.

All materials and videos submitted for the scholarship program must be original words that do not contain any content, materials, photos, graphics, elements or music that are owned by a third-party or entity., including brand name(s) or corporate logos except for Summit Credit Union including clothing, product placement, tech devices or inside private businesses. For example, if you are wearing a shirt in your video with a popular brand logo, we will not be able to use the video and you will be disqualified from the competition


3.    If under 18 student must download parent consent, get it signed and upload into application.


Deadline: February 16th, 2026 Midnight


Applicants will be reviewed by Summit’s selection committee. All applicants will be notified of their status via email the week of March 2nd, 2026. Those selected to participate in the public education voting portion of the scholarship program will receive instructions on how & when to promote their videos.  


Video Question: "We all love convenience, like food delivery, ad-free streaming services or two-day shipping. But those choices can affect your saving and spending habits. How do you decide when convenience is worth the cost or when it's not?" Share your top tips to your peers.   


Video Submission Rules:

  • Must be a Summit Credit Union Member. Students may open a savings account with $1, their student ID at any Summit branch prior to application. Those who have previously been selected for the Project Teen Money Scholarship Program, and Employees of Summit Credit Union and their immediate family members (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and or those living in the same household with an employee are not eligible to enter the Scholarship program.

  • Applicants under 18 must have parents download, sign and upload into the application permission to participate. 

  • All materials and videos submitted for the scholarship program must be original words that do not contain any content, materials, photos, graphics, elements or music that are owned by a third-party or entity., including brand name(s) or corporate logos except for Summit Credit Union including clothing, product placement, tech devices or inside private businesses. For example, if you are wearing a shirt in your video with a popular brand logo, we will not be able to use the video and you will be disqualified from the competition.

  • Video may NOT contain anyone under the age of 18 except for the applicant.

  • Applications that are incomplete will not be considered for the program.

That’s right. Project Teen Money is back and we’re looking for this year’s participants!


Project Teen Money is a video scholarship program and community financial education program that educates young people about wise money management. 


How does Project Teen Money work?


  • Applicants submit a short video (between 30 seconds and 2 minutes) addressing this question: "We all love convenience, like food delivery, ad-free streaming services or two-day shipping. But those choices can affect your saving and spending habits. How do you decide when convenience is worth the cost or when it's not?" Share your top tips to your peers.

  • Using points-based scoring criteria, we choose video finalists and feature them on our website.

  • The public – including you! – votes for their favorite.


Scholarships will be awarded to winners in the following amounts:

Grand Prize Winner - $3,000

Second place - $2,000

Third place - $1,000

Fourth & Fifth place - $750

All remaining runners-up - $500 (yes, all video finalists get a scholarship!)


Scholarship open to high school students at: La Follette, Vel Phillips Memorial, Madison East, Madison West, Shabazz and Capital High who plan to attend post high school education. Acceptable continuing education enrollment can be in a one-, two- or four-year diploma or degree program including vocational and technical programs. Scholarship monies will be funded in the summer after graduation to the student and the selected school upon student request.

Each Submission will be evaluated and scored on the following criteria: accuracy; creativity and originality; timeliness; and adherence to any other information and guidelines provided by Summit Credit Union.
