Student Leadership Development Scholarship WLTI 2026
Description
This scholarship is made possible due to a generous contribution from Robert L. Flint, a former Caterpillar executive and longtime supporter of SkillsUSA.
The 2026 Washington Leadership Training Institute (WLTI) is September 26-30, 2026 in Washington D.C. This scholarship provides support to top students who have insufficient chapter, school or community resources to participate in a national-level SkillsUSA leadership training.
Selection Process
State SkillsUSA directors should solicit the lead chapter advisor for nominations, and then choose ONE nominee’s application to submit to the SkillsUSA headquarters. Once nomination applications are received, a panel of SkillsUSA staff and leadership trainers will evaluate the applications and select the top candidates. Each WLTI scholarship is for $800 and is provided to cover expenses for attendees.
This application must be submitted by a SkillsUSA State Director on behalf of an active SkillsUSA student member in their state association. State directors may submit an application for more than one student. Selection is based on the quality and completeness of the application materials. If selected, scholarship funds are remitted directly to the student recipient's SkillsUSA State Association.
