2025 Washington Youth Tour Application
Introduction
Each year, Tri-County EMC sponsors three local high-school students to represent Georgia as a delegate on the Washington Youth Tour, a week-long adventure in Washington, D.C.
Description
You could join 100 Georgia participants and more than 1,300 students from around the nation, all-expenses-paid, for one incredible week in our nation's capital. The trip is a fast-paced, up-close, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see with your own eyes, the sites and people at the center of our government. The trip is jam-packed with visits to historical sites and famous attractions throughout our nation's capital. Youth tour delegates will meet students representing electric cooperatives all across America. Former President Lyndon Johnson inspired the Washington Youth Tour by encouraging electric cooperatives to send youngsters to the nation's capital, where they can actually see what the flag stands for and represents. What better way to discover America's past and future while building leadership skills and friendships to last a lifetime?
