Tomorrow River Scholarship Foundation Application 2026

Description

Funds for scholarships come from a variety of sources:

·     Founders and board members

·     Individuals, families and groups who fund scholarships in memory of loved ones

·     Individuals and groups who contribute annually

·     One-time individual contributions from alumni, community members, teachers and friends.

The Tomorrow River Scholarship Foundation was created in 1993 through a generous donation from a private citizen and graduate from Amherst High School who wanted to support other AHS graduates and community members interested in pursuing their education. The first four scholarships were presented in 1994.

Selection Process

TRSF applicants must enroll in an accredited university, college or technical school; pursue a program of one year or more; and carry a full-time academic load for that institution. Full-time for undergraduate and technical programs means carrying to completion 12 or more credits in a term (semester or quarter). For graduate programs full-time means carrying 9 or more credits to completion in a term. Exceptions to the full-time requirement will very rarely be provided and must be specifically requested by the scholarship awardee. “Carrying to completion” means through the entire term. Receiving an “F” at the end of the term does not affect “carrying to completion,” but withdrawal from a course does not constitute completion. To receive the scholarship payout, recipient must complete one term in the year following the award of the scholarship.

Applicants must submit the following:

·     Completed application

·     High school or college transcript of courses

·     Recommendation form completed by a non-related adult referent with a current relationship with the applicant such as a high school or college educator, school counselor, employer, pastor, etc. College students should not ask their high school teachers to submit a recommendation for them.

·     A head and shoulders photo of the applicant to be used in a Community Spirit article.

Applications must be submitted online only by no later than February 15, 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
