WTS is an international organization dedicated to the professional advancement of women in transportation. We exist to raise the profile of the transportation profession and to help women find opportunity and recognition within the industry. The WTS Colorado chapter has hundreds of members committed to excellence within the transportation sector. The chapter is dedicated to inspiring and empowering professionals with the latest information and innovations.
WTS Colorado Scholarships 2026-2027
Introduction
For 2026, WTS Colorado will be awarding the following 7 scholarships:
Two $5,000 awards granted to two graduate students
Two $4,000 awards granted to two undergraduate students
One $2,000 award granted to one local community college student
One $2,000 award granted to one high school senior
One $1,500 award granted to a non-traditional student
Scholarship Winners will also receive:
Automatic submission for international-level scholarships for up to $10,000*
Ticket to the WTS Colorado Annual Awards Luncheon (typically occurs in January) where you will be presented with your scholarship award
Ticket to the WTS Colorado Annual Awards Gala (typically occurs in February)
*No international-level award available for non-traditional scholarship
Description
WTS fosters the development of women in the transportation field by encouraging students and new professionals to undertake careers in the transportation field. One way it does this is by awarding scholarships to students pursuing studies in a transportation or related field such as:
-Engineering
-Urban Planning
-Environmental Studies
-Geography
-Construction Management
-Aviation
-Public Administration
-Public Finance
-Public Policy
-Public Affairs
-Public Health
Qualifications
GPA of 3.0 or Higher (2.5 or higher for Non-traditional Scholarship)
Applicants should be attending school in Colorado or Wyoming, and/or reside in Colorado or Wyoming.
Plans to Pursue a Career in a Transportation-Related Field
Community College, Undergraduate and Graduate Students – must be enrolled in a transportation related program at time of application submission
Graduating High School Seniors – demonstrate an interest in enrolling in a transportation related program for the Fall 2026 semester
Non-traditional Students - must have a gap of at least 24 consecutive months in their education background to qualify for the Future Forward Scholarship
Selection Process
All applications are reviewed and scored anonymously by a committee of WTS Colorado volunteers.
