BIG ARTS 2025 Performing & Creative Arts Scholarship
Description
Scholarships are available to students who have professional goals to pursue visual arts, music, dance, theater, literary arts or film. The purpose of the award program is to encourage artistic development in students.
BIG ARTS is offering its Performing and Creative Arts Scholarship Award Program to high school seniors who are planning to study the arts or to students who are currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program.
Scholarships of $2500 - $5000 will be awarded to candidates after a thorough assessment process by the BIG ARTS 2025 Performing and Creative Arts Scholarships Committee.
Selection Process
Students who have professional goals to pursue visual arts, voice, dance, theater, literary arts, or film are invited to apply for a BIG ARTS Scholarship Award. The purpose of this award program is to encourage artistic development in students. Funds may be used for an educational institution’s tuition, books, art supplies, and equipment. A committee will consider funding for, but not limited to, tuition associated with any arts related degree.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for a BIG ARTS Performing and Creative Arts Scholarship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
· High school senior planning to major in the arts
· Student currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate arts program
And also, must meet one of the following criteria:
· Current resident of Sanibel or Captiva
· Currently employed (or have a parent employed) on Sanibel or Captiva
· Current resident of Lee County, Florida
Application Procedure:
1. Complete the scholarship application via "www.mykaleidoscope.com"
2. The following is needed for the application process:
a. One-page essay describing personal and artistic goals and accomplishments, and proposed artistic project/course of study. Please identify the school(s) you will be attending and/or have applied to and outline anticipated costs and tuition for your proposed course of study. Provide as much detail as possible.
b. One letter of recommendation. This letter should comment specifically about your artistic ability, and your character. Letters of recommendation over a year old will not be accepted.
c. Obtain a school transcript of courses and academic grades for submission with application.
d. Include a representative portfolio, which may include photographs, short films/video, writing samples, etc.
3. Applications must be submitted online at “mykaleidoscope.com”. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure their application is complete, and the videos are playable before submitting
Submit a completed application on or before Monday, April 1, 2025.

Welcome to the BIG ARTS Creative and Performing Arts Scholarships Program. Since 1998, the BIG ARTS Scholarship Program has supported high school and college students from Lee County in their pursuit of higher education in the visual and performing arts. In 2024, the program proudly awarded scholarships to six talented students.
