CDGA | IWGA Mini-Grant Program 2025

Description

CDGA Board has authorized a competitive application process for its CDGA/IWGA Mini‐Grant Program for the 2025 year. All applications must be received by the CDGA before 11:59 p.m. June 30, 2025. Applicants will be notified in late October of the status of their application. Mini‐Grant funds will be available for use beginning December 1st, and they must be expended within 12 months. A check will be mailed to the College addressed to your Athletic Director.

The Illinois Women's Golf Association (IWGA) has a long history of supporting women’s golf programs in the state of Illinois and has traditionally distributed annual grants to the state universities’ women’s golf programs. In response to requests to broaden our support, the program was changed to a Mini-Grant program back in 2016. Grants ranging from $500 to $2000 will be made available to support women’s golf programs through a competitive application process.

New in 2024, the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) will be continuing the IWGA's charitable legacy by administering the scholarship and mini-grant program.

Grant requests will be considered for support for a specific project or purchase or for general funding exclusive of travel expenses and salaries. Administrators of women’s golf programs are encouraged to apply for assistance by following the guidelines below.

Selection Process

Any Illinois public or private higher education institution (2 or 4 year colleges) may submit applications for consideration. The appropriate Administrator must authorize all applications before submitting to the CDGA Board. A project submitted without both the Athletic Director and your signature on the application will not be considered.

Funding Priority

Preference will be given to projects and equipment requests that directly impact your golf team and golf program. Needs, measurable outcomes, and likelihood of success are important factors in the evaluation. Please feel free to contact the CDGA for guidance.

Areas Not Funded

The CDGA/IWGA Mini‐Grant Program does not fund travel expenses, recruiting, political/lobbying activities, food/refreshments, or coaches’ salaries. If you are uncertain about your project’s eligibility, please inquire prior to seeking approvals.
