Introduction
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation helps tomorrow's CPAs today by providing more than $50,000 in scholarships and grants annually to accounting students at Connecticut high schools, colleges, and universities.

Scholarships available:
CTCPA High School Accounting Scholarship
CTCPA has established this scholarship to help Connecticut high school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in accounting as their post-secondary education. A maximum of ten scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to selected recipients. Two students per participating high school may be recommended and apply for this scholarship.
CTCPA Minority Accounting Scholarship
CTCPA has established this scholarship to help students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year Connecticut college or university, who are a Junior or Senior by the incoming Fall semester, and who have declared a major in Accounting.
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation will offer one award of $5,000 to the selected recipient.
CTCPA Community College Accounting Scholarship
CTCPA has established this scholarship to help Connecticut community college students who are currently attending a two-year college/university and plan to transfer to a four-year Connecticut college/university during the scholarship year, with the intent to declare a major in Accounting.
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation will offer one award of $5,000 to the selected scholarship recipient.
CTCPA Child of a CTCPA Member Scholarship
CTCPA has established this scholarship to assist students majoring in accounting who have a parent who is a member of CTCPA in good standing. Past recipients are not eligible to apply; however, they may be eligible for other scholarships offered and are encouraged to review eligibility criteria provided at www.ctcpas.org/scholarships.
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation will offer awards of $500 each to selected scholarship recipients.
CTCPA 4 Year College Accounting Scholarship
CTCPA has established this scholarship to help students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year Connecticut college or university, who are a Junior or Senior by the incoming fall semester, and who have declared a major in Accounting.
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation will offer six scholarships of $5,000 to each selected recipient.
CTCPA CPA Candidate’s Award Scholarship
CTCPA has established this scholarship to help candidates enrolling in a Connecticut college/university for a post-baccalaureate degree or additional 30 credit hours. Candidates will have already satisfied the 120-hour requirement to sit for the CPA Exam by the end of the current semester. Past recipients of CTCPA exam-related scholarships are not eligible to apply; however, they may be eligible for other scholarships offered and are encouraged to review eligibility criteria provided at www.ctcpas.org/scholarships.

Qualifications
Qualifications vary by scholarship offered, but all applicants must meet the following criteria
Applicant must be a Connecticut resident, currently enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year Connecticut college or university, or currently employed/has accepted an offer of employment at a firm, company, or agency located in Connecticut.
Applicant must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) and an Accounting GPA of 3.0 or above.
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States with a Green Card.
Applicant must be a CTCPA Student Member. Student Membership is free; join CTCPA at www.ctcpas.org/join.

Selection Process
All applicants must submit a completed application by March 31 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted for review. A student may save the application and make changes up to March 31 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Once the applicant clicks the “submit application” button, no further changes can be made.
Applications will be reviewed by the Accounting Scholarship Foundation’s Trustees; the winner will be notified by mid May. Applicants will be judged on factors including academic achievement, work, volunteer and leadership activities, the submitted essay, and overall presentation of self and demonstrated commitment to the accounting profession..
The scholarships will be paid via check payable directly to the selected recipient. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in early June to be recognized for your achievement. More details to follow.
The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants is the statewide professional membership association exclusively for CPAs and finance professionals. CTCPA has a current membership of approximately 6,000 individuals in public practice, business and industry, government, and education.
