The Coupeville Lions Club Scholarship Committee selects Coupeville students to receive a wide range of scholarships based on community service, school activities, academic achievement, and financial need, with typical support of $35,000 annually.
Description
Who May Apply?
Students who are finishing their final year of high school education in 2024-25 and reside in the Coupeville School District.
2025 graduates not planning to register for college before March 1, 2026 can apply for a 2026 Scholarship.
How Many Lions Scholarships Are Available? Amounts? Eligible Schools?
The selection of the recipients for the scholarships will be determined solely by the Lions Scholarship Awards Committee and is based on the scholarship budget approved by the membership.
Scholarships may be awarded to students attending any post-secondary school (trade, vocational, college, university) that is accredited and in compliance with all Federal and State Government Agencies.
Specific scholarships are designated for students who have been active in the Leos Club; who are attending vocational/technical schools; or planning careers in health care.
What Criteria Will Be Used by Lions to Select Scholarship Recipients?
Coupeville Lions highly value and wish to reward well-rounded students; those students who have applied themselves within their school and community. Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
Community Service
School Activities (performing arts, sports, ASB, Leos, Science Olympiad, NHS etc.)
Academic Achievement
Financial Need
How Will Scholarships Funds Be Distributed?
CHS students will be notified of awards at the Coupeville High School Awards Night ceremony as well as by mail.
Non-CHS students will be notified by mail or email.
All financial awards will be issued directly to the attending college after students have provided institution address and student ID number.
Application Procedure
Access and complete the application and essay questions on-line
Attach an electronic copy of your unofficial transcript.
Provide name and email for one reference who can attest to the student's school, community or extracurricular activities. References are to be (1) Over age 18 and (2) Not related to the applicant. Ideally, this person will be a teacher, employer, mentor or like.
