DSA Member Scholarship 2025
Description
The San Diego County Deputy Sheriffs’ Foundation will award a total of two (2) scholarships at $2,000 each to Active DSA members in good standing. Payments will only be made to the school.
Essay Questions to prepare for in the application:
- Please list the name of your school/university and your major area of study.
- Please list the volunteer or work-related positions you hold in the department or community.
- Please list your hobbies/activities/special interests.
- Please describe (1-2 typed pages) your academic plans, career interests, and objectives. You may also include any community involvement, significant events/experiences that have influenced your life, how higher education has influenced/affected your life, or any other information you believe would assist the SDCDSF Scholarship Committee in its evaluation of your application. Please note that your personal essay is the most important part of your application.
Selection Process
Any Active DSA Member in good standing who has been a member for at least one year prior to the published application due date of April 7, 2025, may apply for the scholarship. Member must be enrolled in an accredited College or University. Continuing education and online courses qualify if University or College is accredited.
Scholarship applications must be received within this portal on or before April 7, 2025. Announcement of scholarship awards will be made in May to be effective the following August. All winners will receive acknowledgment at the DSA General Member meeting on June 12, 2025. Please direct any questions to [email protected].
