Investing in Leaders and Communities

The David and Dovetta Wilson Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 non profit organization established in 1991. Nine scholarships have been given annually to deserving public high school graduates entering an accredited college/university in the United States. Scholars who are awarded the David & Dovetta Wilson Scholarship for their freshman year are eligible for continued support through programming and grants throughout their college journey. The DDWSF was established as a legacy and tribute to honor David R. Wilson (1915-1985) and his wife Dovetta Wilson (1923-1995) who empowered their nine children to pursue academic achievements and become benevolent professionals giving back to their community. This was in direct response to the lack of educational opportunity in our nation for all Americans. The David and Dovetta Wilson Scholarship Fund is committed in investing in future leaders by breaking down barriers to academic excellence. Through scholarships, mentoring, leadership development, and networking opportunities the DDWSF lives out the dream of David and Dovetta Wilson.
