FirstLight Community Foundation Scholarship
The FirstLight Community Foundation Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors in El Paso, Fort Bliss, and Dona Ana County, as well as dependents of FirstLight FCU employees. Recipients are selected based on extracurricular involvement, GPA, and a video submission. Personality and creativity are encouraged! Share what makes you, you! 🎬✨
Ambassador Program Opportunity 🤝
Top applicants may be invited to join the FirstLight Ambassador Program which includes:
· 🌞 A summer 2026 in-person meet-and-greet with FirstLight leaders
· 🧠 An inside look at FirstLight operations
· 🎥 Must be willing to participate in a post-experience reflection video and additional promotional materials
· 💸 Additional financial support
How to Prepare
· Gather your guidance counselor’s contact information
· Be ready to list school, work, and community activities
· Submit one video (up to 300mb) in a well-lit area where we can hear and see you
o ⚠️ Only complete applications with a video will be reviewed
· 🎉 2026 recipients will be invited to an in-person awards ceremony in May 2026
NOTE: ONLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WITH VIDEO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE REVIEWED.
Selection Process
Eligibility
Graduating Seniors Scholarship
· 🎓Class of 2026 graduate from El Paso County, Fort Bliss, or Dona Ana County
· 🏫 Incoming freshman at a 2- or 4-year college or trade school
· 📚 Minimum GPA: 2.5
FirstLight Dependent Scholarship
· 👪 Must be a dependent of a FirstLight FCU employee
· 🏫 Current college student at a 2 or 4-year institution or trade school
· 📚 Minimum GPA: 2.5
*The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to provide partial scholarship amounts to deserving applicants.
*Applicant does not need to be a current FirstLight Federal Credit Union member to apply. If awarded, funds will be deposited into a FirstLight Federal Credit Union account. Recipients will be notified of award no later than April 3, 2026. Upon notification of award, accounts must be opened by April 17, 2026. Non-member recipients will be required to open a Savings account. Failure to open an account by deadline will result in forfeiture of the award. Membership eligibility requirements apply. Federally insured by NCUA.
