Idaho Power Company Memorial Scholarship 2025

Description

This scholarship program was created to memorialize the lives of former Idaho Power employees Douglas E. Sprenger, Kevin M. Whittier and Larry R. Wimer. This program provides two (2) $1,000 scholarships for graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in an engineering program at an accredited Idaho college, OR college students of any level enrolling in a natural resources program at an accredited Idaho college. Awards are granted on a one-time basis for the school year directly following the scholarship award, are not renewable, and may not be deferred or held for later use.

If awarded, Idaho Community Foundation will forward a check directly to the institution for credit to the student’s account; the award will be split between the fall and spring semester of the first year.

Applications open January 1, 2025.

Deadline for submitting your application is March 1, 2025, at 11:59pm MST.

Applicants will be notified of the selection committee’s decision by email no later than May 1.

Selection Process

Graduating high school senior planning to enroll in an engineering program at an accredited Idaho college

-OR-

College student of any level currently enrolled in a natural resources program at an accredited Idaho college.

Application Requirements:

  • Personal information

  • High school

  • Post-secondary education

  • Personal statement

  • Most recent high school/college transcript including fall semester grades (to be uploaded)

  • Two signed letters of recommendation (to be uploaded) -- (1) reference from teacher, coach, counselor or principal; and (1) reference from community leader or employer (non-family member/non-educator)
