LinkedIn Possibilities in Tech Scholarship 2026

Introduction

The Possibilities in Tech Scholarship supports the big dreams of future tech talent. Scholarship recipients will engage in four years of community building, college navigation support, and technical training focused on these four pillars of persistence: 

  • Sense of Belonging 

  • Self-Advocacy and Getting Help 

  • Readiness for Career in Technology 

  • Financial Independence

Description

Scholarship Details: 

  • Recipients will be awarded up to $40,000 over the duration of their college experience.  

  • Awards will be given at $10,000 per year ($5,000 per semester) with the opportunity to renew up to 3 times assuming recipients continue to meet eligibility requirements and maintain good academic standing.  

  • Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in year-round programming to maintain eligibility for renewal.  

    • IMPORTANT: As part of the programming, all scholarship recipients are required to attend a mandatory Kickoff Trip at LinkedIn headquarters in Mountain View, CA scheduled from June 22-25, 2026. All trip expenses will be covered by LinkedIn. Failure to attend this trip, outside of any medical or family emergencies, will result in loss of scholarship and removal from the program.

While working on the application, you can save your work throughout to come back as needed. The scholarship application will require the following: 

  • Transcript (unofficial transcripts and screenshots are acceptable) that includes grades from the first semester of your high school senior year 

  • Brief essays (as described in the application)

  • A letter of recommendation from someone who understands your interests and background in STEM and their contact information 

  • Financial information (household income, expected costs of college, any debts – we highly encourage you to complete FAFSA before applying to our program) 

  • Parental or legal guardian consent, if you are under 18 years old 

NOTE: We recommend completing the application after you have completed the FAFSA if you are using the FAFSA. We will look for the most complete financial need information including the Student Aid Index (SAI) from the FAFSA. You can save and resume your work on this application throughout. 

Selection Process

High school seniors attending school in United States or Puerto Rico planning to attend 4-year college or universities in the United States to complete a degree in Computer Science (or similar related fields) with intention to pursue software engineering in tech after college are invited to apply. Candidates should meet the following criteria:  

 All these statements apply to me:  

  • I have not yet started a full-time college program. This program is NOT open to students enrolled in college at the time of application. 

  • I plan to begin my degree at a full time at a not-for-profit, accredited college or university in the United States starting in Fall 2026. 

  • I am planning to complete a degree in Computer Science (or similar) with hopes of working in a software engineering-related role after college. 

  • I am excited for the opportunity to travel (all expenses paid) to participate in experiential learning 1-2x per year, including in the summer throughout the four-year program.  

  • I am excited to participate in community building and career development events during college. 

  • I am committed to bringing my unique experiences and perspectives to future tech big dreamers. 

Possibilities in Tech is open to all, and selection decisions are not based on race, gender or any other protected class. Winners are selected based on strong demonstrated passion and skill in technology as well as financial need as measured by FAFSA’s Student Aid Index (SAI). 

 

Selection Timeline:  

  • Application Window: December 15th, 2025 – March 11th, 2026 

  • Top candidates will be invited to interview in early April 2026 

  • Final decisions prior to May 1st, 2026
