MRES Electrical Lineworker or Powerline Scholarship 2025

Description

To encourage students to choose a career in linework and then seek employment with municipal utilities, MRES is offering seven $2,000 scholarships to qualified students enrolling in an electrical lineworker or powerline program. The student must attend one of the following technical colleges selected by MRES:

  • Bismarck State College – Bismarck, ND

  • Dakota County Technical College – Rosemount, MN

  • Minnesota West Community and Technical College – Granite Falls, MN

  • Minnesota West Community and Technical College – Jackson, MN

  • Minnesota State Community and Technical College – Wadena, MN

  • Mitchell Technical College – Mitchell, SD

  • Northwest Iowa Community College – Sheldon, IA


Applicant Eligibility

  • Scholarships will be awarded to students majoring in courses of electrical lineworker and the powerline program.

  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

  • Applicants do not need to reside in the MRES service area.

  • Must enroll in a full-time* vocational-technical school no later than the fall of 2025.

* Full-time study is defined as full-time enrollment for the entire academic year.

Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) scholarships are open to high school seniors who will be enrolled full-time for fall semester 2025 at one of the accredited vocational-technical schools listed.
