NFPA University Grant Application 2024-25
Introduction
The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) is a trade association focused on strengthening the hydraulics and pneumatics industry. With more than 300 fluid power manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers in its membership, the NFPA works to advance fluid power education, technology and the industry as a whole.
Description
The NFPA Education and Technology Foundation is committed to supporting university fluid power education and programs. The University Grant is designed to provide funding to faculty to add fluid power curriculum to their undergraduate engineering programs to ensure students have necessary skills as identified by NFPA member companies.
Examples of supported activities funded by this grant include:
Resources you need to bring fluid power curriculum to your mechanical engineering programs
Curriculum development by faculty
Development of teaching tools (e.g., textbooks, software programs, training stations)
Lab development, maintenance, upgrades

Qualifications
Funding must be connected to adding curriculum to teach the General Electrical, Control Systems, and Data Acquisition competencies at your university
The project must have on-going usage and benefits beyond a one-year scope
Selection Process
The selection of funding recipients will be based on the following criteria:
Merits of the project – its goals and objectives
Relevance and importance to fluid power curriculum
Student involvement
Multiplier effect
