Neil Isbin Scholarship 2025

Description

Herb and Kathie Isbin established this scholarship fund in memory of their son, Neil. Neil Isbin was a lifelong human rights activist who worked tirelessly for equality and justice, gay and lesbian rights, affordable health care for all New Mexicans, tax fairness for working families, and public employee collective bargaining.

The Neil Isbin $1,000 scholarship toward college tuition is awarded annually and is administered by the Jewish Community Foundation of New Mexico (JCF). Typically, two scholarships are awarded each year.

Selection Process

The scholarship is open to all Albuquerque-area high school seniors who (1) have demonstrated achievements or ongoing volunteer work supporting human rights and human dignity, and (2) will be enrolling in an accredited nonprofit college or university in the fall. There are no restrictions on eligibility based on race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability status.
