Nemont Scholarship 2025-2026
Description
At Nemont, we are honored to recognize academic achievement and believe that supporting educational endeavors aids in strengthening our communities. Scholarships are awarded each spring and are open to High School, Trade School, College, and non-traditional students.
Only current subscribers and their dependents may apply for a one-time scholarship if they meet the scholarship criteria.

Selection Process
These scholarships are available to students who will be attending an accredited college, university, community college or trade school during the following school year.
Available Scholarships
Nemont, Serving Northeast Montana: Six $1000 Scholarships
Three for students attending a four-year accredited college or university, one per Nemont district.
Three for students attending a two-year accredited community college or trade school, one per Nemont district.
Student, parent or guardian must be a customer of Nemont, serving Northeast Montana.
Nemont, Serving South Central Montana: Two $1000 Scholarships
One for a student attending a four-year accredited college or university.
One for a student attending a two-year accredited community college or trade school.
Student, parent or guardian must be a customer of Nemont, serving South Central Montana.
Guidelines for 2 Year and 4 Year College Degrees
Only current customers of Nemont and their dependents may apply for these scholarships.
Scholarships will be awarded on a one-time basis and are not renewable.
Preference may be given to students pursuing a telecommunications career or related field such as marketing, computers, accounting, electronics, etc.
Scholarship winners will be asked to provide a picture for use in company publications and advertising, and a signed release form, within 30 days of notification.
Winners must be full-time students enrolling in at least 12 credit hours per semester during the next school year.
A minimum of 2.0 Grade Point Average, or “C” average, is required of the scholarship winners during the first semester. The $1000 scholarship will be awarded after the first semester and must be claimed within one year of awarding. If a winner fails to meet the requirement, the scholarship will be forfeited and re-awarded to the “alternate” selected at the time of judging.
Scholarship applicants will be required to provide:
A copy of their high school or college transcript or GED.
Two letters of recommendation.
One character reference letter.
A brief statement of their future career goals.
Scholarship application.
Guidelines for Trade Schools
Only current customers of Nemont and their dependents may apply for these scholarships.
Scholarships will be awarded on a one-time basis and are not renewable.

Program completion or proof of passing is required for the $1000 scholarship to be awarded. If a winner fails to meet the requirement, the scholarship will be forfeited and re-awarded to the “alternate” selected at the time of judging.

Judging
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarship judging will be based upon need, grades, application and school/community involvement.
Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, income, sex or disability.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of Nemont board members and employees.
The scholarships will be awarded to the successful applicants upon completion of their first semester, and after they have provided an official transcript.
Judges have final discretion for determining awardees.
Deadline
Scholarship applications must be completed on or before the first Monday in April.
Winners will be notified by mid-May.
