Paul Lauzier, the son of French immigrants, was born in 1919. His parents were sheep herders from a small village in the French Alps. They operated a sheep business in the lower Yakima Valley, then eventually moved their lambing camp to a site near Ephrata, WA.
After serving in World War II, Mr. Lauzier returned to Grant County to run the family sheep business. He expanded it to include beef cattle and irrigated farming.
Paul passed away in 1995 after battling cancer. During his lifetime, Paul gave generously to support causes and programs he believed in. He created an estate plan to continue his legacy of charitable giving. Half of the net income from the assets of his estate are distributed through the Paul Lauzier Scholarship Foundation for college scholarships to Grant County, WA students. The other half of the net income is distributed through the Paul Lauzier Charitable Foundation in the form of grants for community development, youth programs, public health and safety, education and agriculture.
