Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholarship 2025

Sponsored by Career and Technical Education in Honor of Red Lawson.

SPARK, the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools, is pleased to offer one scholarship at a minimum of $1,000 to one or more 2023 graduate of PWCS who completed a VDOE approved CTE sequence of courses and plans to continue education through a Professional Certification program, an Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree, an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree, or a Bachelors in a field related to their CTE course studies.

Selection Process

  • The applicant must plan to pursue education at a two-year or four-year college (including community college), vocational school, or trade school/college to get a Professional Certification.

  • The applicant must provide contact information for a high school counselor in order for a transcript of the first semester grades of his/her senior year may be obtained.

  • The applicant must have participated in co-curricular school activities (clubs, sports, organizations) and/or in community activities (place of worship organizations, community groups) and/or have paid work experience while in high school.

  • A 250-word essay or a portfolio must be submitted with this application.

  • The applicant must submit a recommendation from one teacher or one employer.
