PHN Charitable Foundation Healthcare Scholarships 2025
Introduction
At PHN Charitable Foundation (PHNCF), we believe that we must invest in our own future - the future of human healthcare. We must ensure that there will always be well-trained doctors, nurses, technicians and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest quality of care in our health centers. To support this belief, every year PHNCF provides $30,000 in academic awards to students pursuing a career in the healthcare or allied health fields. Recipients have gone on to pursue careers as doctors, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical billing specialists, medical office associates and more.

Please note: This scholarship is intended to be awarded to students who are studying in the field of human healthcare; veterinary healthcare is not an eligible field for this scholarship.

Q: Is this scholarship limited to a certain state or county?

Q: Do I have to be enrolled in a 4 year college and pursuing a career as a doctor or nurse?
A: You are eligible as long as you are applying your education to a future career in human healthcare or a human healthcare-focused field, which includes behavioral/mental health as well as dental care, or an Allied Healthcare field. You can be either college-bound or currently enrolled at a public college, private college, or vocational school.
Q: Do my transcripts have to be official?
A: Unofficial transcripts are sufficient, however, the transcripts you submit must have your name, your school's name and/or logo, and your GPA clearly visible. PDF uploads are the preferred method of submission. Photos are not acceptable.
Q: Can I apply for the PHNCF Healthcare Scholarship next year if I already applied for it this year?
A: Certainly! Not only can you apply multiple years but we encourage you to do so, even if you've been a past recipient.

Qualifications
Application Requirements
After reviewing the mission, values, and programs of PHN and PHNCF, please submit an essay containing a minimum of 550-600 words that explains how you could apply your education, goals and ideals at or with PHN and PHNCF to advance community health and wellness in the PHN/PHNCF footprint.
Applicants will be disqualified if any personal details (name, address, phone number, etc.) are listed within the essay. This includes the names of siblings, teachers, coworkers, etc. Please use other identifiers such as "my sister" or "my teacher" instead.
G.P.A. of 3.0 or Higher (must provide transcripts)- Unofficial transcripts are sufficient, however, the transcripts you submit must have your name, your school's name and/or logo, and your GPA clearly visible. PDF uploads are the preferred method of submission. Photos are not acceptable.
Must be enrolled in a qualifying course of study for the 2025/2026 academic year. "Undecided" is not eligible.
Must reside in one of the counties Primary Health Network serves in Pennsylvania or Ohio (see Eligible Counties list above).
Selection Process
Scholarship recipients will be chosen by PHNCF’s Scholarship Committee and will be notified no later than May 2024. A check made payable to the student's educational institution will be mailed directly to the educational institution.
10 Scholarships will be awarded at $3,000, plus the option for an internship at Primary Health Network/ PHN Charitable Foundation for each scholarship recipient!
The Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation (PHNCF) was established in 2005 to support the mission and goals of Primary Health Network. PHNCF supports this mission by raising funds to build and sustain programs that increase access to healthcare services and improve the health and quality of life in the communities we serve.
