PrimeWay Luker Leadership Scholarship 2025
Introduction
PrimeWay Federal Credit Union wants to make it easier for you to get an education. We are offering one $2,500 Luker Leadership Scholarship to eligible students in the Harris, Fort Bend and Washington counties.
Description
The Luker Leadership Scholarship was created to honor our former Chairman of the Board, Ernest Luker. Mr. Luker made a positive difference for PrimeWay, our membership and our team. Board members are volunteers elected by the membership to serve the membership. We are so excited that Mr. Luker’s legacy will continue through the Luker Leadership Scholarship. This scholarship is focused on finding the future leaders of our community. Special attention is placed on volunteerism, leadership positions and mentoring. This is not just an academic scholarship.
Qualifications
Resident of Harris, Fort Bend or Washington County
Senior in High School through a Junior in College
Enrolled in summer and/or fall 2025 semester
2.0 GPA or above (on a 4.0-grade-scale)
Selection Process
1. Applicant must be a resident of Harris, Fort Bend or Washington County.
2. Applicant must be a Senior in High School through a Junior in College.
3. Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited college/university or vocational/trade school for the fall 202 semester.
4. Applicants must complete the required enclosed application to apply for a PrimeWay Federal Credit Union scholarship. (See attached application)
5. Applicant must demonstrate and document ACTIVE participation in school clubs and organizations, community organizations, charity and volunteer positions, entrepreneurship opportunities and employment. This scholarship is aimed to award individuals who are active in their school and community and who possess demonstrated leadership qualities.
6. Applicant’s GPA (Grade-Point average) must be 2.0 or above (on a 4.0-grade-scale). Acceptable documentation includes official high school transcript or official college transcript with official seal.
7. (3) THREE Letters of Recommendation/Reference must be submitted on appropriate letterhead and signed by the appropriate official.
8. Applicant must submit a typed 1000 words or less essay on the topic assigned in the application (See Section VI).
9. Applicant must submit a Letter of Acceptance or Registration from intended college/university or vocational/trade school on appropriate letterhead. If the student is already attending college, then proof of enrollment is necessary. If this is not available before the application deadline, it will need to be provided before the distribution of any scholarship funds.
10. Applicant must thoroughly read and sign the Application Agreement “in the application” (See Section VII)

12. All applications will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee at PrimeWay Federal Credit Union.
13. Scholarship recipients agree to allow PrimeWay Federal Credit Union to publish this information and take photographs for credit union publications, offices and credit union-related trade publications.
14. Applicants may be asked to submit additional information and/or participate in a personal interview before a final decision is made.
