To apply for the SJLI Scholarship, you will need to fill out this form and submit your responses no later than May 16th, 2025.
Deciding which path to take after high school can be challenging for many students of color. Our Higher Pathways program is a direct path for Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI) alumni to attain progress toward achieving educational, career, and economic growth.
Selection Process
Eligibility Requirements
Youth is a current high school senior
Youth is (or was) enrolled in SJLI program (Urban Scholars, Urban Scholars Young Women Program, Urban Health Fellowship or The Fellowship Initiative)
Youth applied for 2 or 4-year college/university, or trade school
Scholarship Funding Requirements
In order to receive the SJLI scholarship you must:
Must attend SJLI's Culmination Ceremony
Must attend SJLI's Summer Immersive: A Different World
Meet with a SJLI College Success Counselor to conduct your post-secondary assessment (proof of school enrollment, financial aid completion, etc.)
Meet with your College Success Counselor at least once a month while enrolled in school
Attend 2 post-secondary success workshops per semester
Submit grades after each semester
