The Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund provides opportunities for Latinx/Hispanic students living in the Southern Oregon region to complete their post high school career/degree goals. This scholarship’s primary aim is to build leadership in our region’s communities. 


Award Amounts - Minimum 3 Awards in 2026 (dependent on type of award)

  • $2,500 per year, renewable for up to 4 years if applicant is attending 4-year university

  • $1,250 per year, renewable for up to 2 years if applicant is attending a 2-year community college.

  • Students enrolled in an accredited technical training program that leads to licensure will be awarded $1,250-$2,500 for 1-4 years, depending on the program they are enrolled in.

Scholarship Renewal Process

  • This scholarship may be renewable for up to 4 years, upon meeting program requirements.

  • During the academic year, scholarship recipients must complete an approved community service activity.

Selection Process

  • Must be a resident of Jackson, Josephine or Klamath counties and be of Latinx heritage.

  • Must be a high school student who will be enrolling or a student who will be enrolled full time in the state of Oregon at an accredited community college, technical institute, or public/private university for the 2026-2027 academic year

  • Must have a minimum of 3.00 cumulative high school grade point average or a minimum combined verbal and math score of 1010 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test I (SAT I) or a minimum of 21 on the American College Test (ACT).

  • Continuing college students must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative grade point average.

About Redwood Foundation for Education

The Redwood Foundation for Education provides scholarships and grants to students in schools throughout Southern Oregon. Awards are based on demonstrated leadership and co-curricular activities, academics and need, and are funded by donations from individuals, businesses, service clubs and class alumni.


Founded in 1964 as the Josephine County Educational Fund, Inc. (JCEF), in 2022, after more than five decades of growth, the organization changed its name to recognize its expanded service area and scope. Today, the Redwood Foundation for Education manages over 250 individual funds and more than $12 million in assets. In 2025, we awarded $922,105 in scholarships to students throughout Josephine County and Southern Oregon.
