Spring 22 Initiates Scholarship 2025

Description

The Spring 22 Initiates Scholarship is an effort to expand young adult engagement in higher educational opportunities. It has been established by women who were initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter, in the spring of 2022. It is open to high school seniors with permanent residency in the State of Maryland who plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). 

Pearl Elegance Foundation, Incorporated (PEFINC), a non-profit 501(c)3 charity, was established in 2014 in the state of Maryland. PEFINC is a direct out-growth of the Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. PEFINC's mission is “We give to help others.”


One of the ways we demonstrate our support for helping others is through our annual scholarship program. PEFINC provides a number of scholarships for eligible high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. Click the links below to apply for each scholarship. 



Applicants are welcome to apply for more than one scholarship if they meet the required eligibility criteria. 


Immediate family (child, step-child, grandchild, sibling, step-sibling, niece and/or nephew) or members of Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® are not eligible to apply.

Selection Process

Applicants must:

  • Be a high school senior
  • Be a permanent resident of the state of Maryland
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)

About the Foundation

Pearl Elegance Foundation, Incorporated (PEFINC), a non-profit 501(c)3 charity, was established in 2014 in the state of Maryland. PEFINC is a direct out-growth of the Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.


PEFINC's mission is “We give to help others.” We recognize that community needs vary from the simplest of things to the more complex and demanding. We endeavor to fill the gaps in our community by applying our experiences, time and resources to those in need.
