Tradition’s Arnold Palmer Education Fund offers education scholarships to employees, spouses, and children of Tradition Golf Club employees. The purpose of the Fund is to provide an opportunity for eligible high school and college students to pursue post-secondary education in college and vocational programs.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria prior to the application deadline:

1.      Current Employee

  • Must be actively employed and in good standing at Tradition Golf Club.

  • Employed as a full time or part time/seasonal employee for the full 2024-2025 season with Tradition Golf Club. Full prior season is considered November to May, or 13 months of employment prior to scholarship application close date. 

2.      Spouse or Domestic Partner

  • Must be the spouse or domestic partner of a current employee who meets the criteria above.

3.      Dependent Child

  • Must be the biological, step-, or legally adopted child of the qualifying employee.

  • Must live in the employee’s household or be primarily supported by the employee.

To apply for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be in their final year of high school, a high school graduate, or have earned a high school equivalency (GED).

  • Plan to enroll, have applied to, or accepted into an educational program in the United States during the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 or Summer 2027 terms that leads to a degree or certificate of completion. Eligible programs include junior colleges, two- or four-year colleges, trade schools, certificate programs and vocational-technical schools.

  • Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.

Not eligible for the scholarship:

  • Higher education beyond the scope of a bachelor’s degree

  • Certificate programs, professional development education or training that would be eligible for Professional Development Grants. Please contact Blair Moss should you desire to seek professional development education.

Annual Scholarship Opportunity

  • Scholarships are valid only for the academic year in which it is awarded. It is not renewable, and future awards are not guaranteed. Scholarships are not renewable, and no guarantees or carryover awards will be made for future academic years.

  • Applicants must reapply each year and meet current eligibility requirements.

  • Each individual may receive the scholarship for up to five academic years.

  • If a student withdraws during the year they receive the award, the scholarship is forfeited and reapplication is required for future consideration.


Additional Programs

  • Professional Development Grants: Career-focused education funding is available through Workforce Development Grants from Tradition’s Arnold Palmer Education Fund. Contact Desert Scholarship Foundation for details. Note: Workforce training and education is no longer covered by the scholarship listed above.

  • Backpack Program: Each summer, the scholarship fund provides backpacks and school supplies for employees’ school-aged children.

Maximum Award Amounts:

  1. $15,000.00 maximum award for an accredited two- or four-year college.

  2. $10,000.00 maximum award for a trade school or certificate program.

All eligibility criteria will be reviewed and approved by the committee each year.
